1. No electricity load shedding due to high demand: Rwanda Energy Group (REG) has sufficient energy to meet the current demand, and as a result there is no need for load shedding.
2. Gishoma, the first peat fired power plant in Africa is now operational and generates more than15 MW.
3. After the commissioning of the Gishoma and Giciye II power plants, REG now has a total installed capacity of 208 MW.
4. In order to improve its service delivery, REG now has branches in all 30 districts in the country, including 3 other branches in the City of Kigali.
