EUCL launches findings from the evaluation of the 30 days Performance Improvement Program (PIP)

On this Thursday 23rd February 2017 at Lemigo Hotel, the Energy Utility Corporation Limited (EUCL), launched findings from a 30 days Performance evaluation program with the aim to ensure improvements towards better service delivery to citizens and efficiency in all the company’s operations.

This evaluation is part of 90 days PIP program from the first of January to 31st of March 2017. It aims at generating quick-wins in the transformation of EUCL into a highly efficient and customer-centric organization, whilst cementing performance based work practices and promoting a culture of excellence.  

An incentive and penalty mechanism is also used to promote collective responsibility and individual accountability among the EUCL staff.

We must therefore tap into the skills of our people by creating an environment that promotes championship, participatory approaches to strategy development, innovation and competition.”

The 90 days PIP has been developed on the foundation of these principles and focuses on challenging individuals and teams to go beyond SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) targets to achieve ‘Stretch targets’ that are only possible if the status-quo is challenged for the benefit of improved service to the customer.

It is expected by the program that light will shed on areas where the company needs improvement, including Network Availability, Revenue Collection, Loss Reduction, Efficiency of Operations, Talent Attraction or Retention, IT Systems and Automation, Skills Development or Enhancement and Performance Management.
